Eviana J. Martin, and her husband, Steven E. Martin, co-founded the Martin Law Firm, P.L. Together, with the help of their team of dedicated attorneys and staff, they have represented thousands of individuals in their legal matters.
Eviana’s practice focuses on Bankruptcy (consumer protection and restructuring of debt), Personal Injury, and Probate matters. She has successfully obtained bankruptcy discharges for thousands of individuals.
Eviana was born and grew up in Latvia, one of the satellite states of the former Soviet Union. Beginning as a volunteer at a local orphanage in her native Latvia, Eviana has developed and maintained a commitment to community service and volunteering.
She started on her path helping people while attending nursing school in Latvia and successfully graduating with the nursing degree. She continued her studies in Latvian University with emphasis on Economics and Business.
After emigrating to the United States of America, Eviana graduated with a B. A. degree from Barry University in Miami. Eviana earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
While in law school, Eviana served as law clerk for the Honorable Judge William T. Smith in the Family Division of the Alachua County Courts in Gainesville, Florida, and also for the Public Defender’s Office of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, Eviana is also admitted to practice in the Federal Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
Eviana believes that it is her job to make sure that every individual receives justice and their day in court. Eviana is a zealous advocate for her clients and a frequent contributor for the local community. Eviana is actively involved in the local legal community and in 2014 served as a President of the Cape Coral Bar Association. She was also a member of the Calusa Inn of Court, an organization striving to achieve professionalism, ethics, civility, and excellence in a legal profession and judiciary.
Eviana is a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions within the legal community. While in law school, Eviana was recognized for her pro-bono work for the underprivileged clients. In 2015 and 2016, Eviana J. Martin have been selected to the Florida Rising Stars list compiled by Super Lawyers Magazine. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state of Florida are selected to receive this honor. From 2012 through 2014, for three consecutive years, Eviana J. Martin have been named to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite Up and Comers. Attorneys under the age of forty were eligible to receive the distinction of Up and Comers. Only 175 attorneys statewide received this distinction recognizing leadership in the bar. Only 5 attorneys in Lee County received this distinction.
In 2015, Eviana received a Martindale-Hubbell® AV Peer Review RatingTM, the legal profession’s most prestigious rating service. Eviana was given an “AV” rating from her peers, which means that she was deemed to have very high professional ethics and preeminent legal ability. Only lawyers with the highest ethical standards and professional ability receive a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating. Initially created in 1887, for almost 148 years, the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings is an objective tool that attests to a lawyer’s ability and professional ethics, based on the confidential opinions of other lawyers and judges who have worked with the lawyers they are evaluating.
In 2014, Eviana together with her husband, Steven E. Martin, cofounded CodeFlorida.org, a nonprofit educational organization with a goal of teaching computer science to local high school students in Florida. Inspired by Code.org, this educational platform teaches much needed computer science in the community. Eviana and her husband, Steven E. Martin, are both proud supporters of the local soup kitchen, Community Cooperative Ministries, Inc. in Fort Myers, Florida. Eviana has committed their firm to provide thousands of dollars of pro-bono bankruptcy services to qualified individuals in Lee and Collier County.Accomplishments and Recognitions
